SwitchWaterSupplier.com Adopts Ofwat Principles For Codes Of Conduct

SwitchWaterSupplier.com (SWS), a platform set up to help businesses in England and Wales take full advantage of the open water market, has announced that it is embracing the principles of Ofwat’s proposed codes of conduct for third-party intermediaries (TPI), with the aim being to offer more protection for customers.

Although our account management service doesn’t involve entering into water retail contracts or making payments to suppliers on behalf of our clients, we do liaise with the water retail community as their representative, so that non-household customers can run a tender for their water and wastewater services contracts.

We also work closely with their existing supplier for water bill validation purposes, identifying billing errors and ensuring that incorrect billing data is corrected, which is why we’ve decided to adopt Ofwat’s proposed principles for a voluntary TPI code of conduct.

Under the code, we pledge to be independent, fair, transparent and honest, with all client communication in plain and clear language. All information provided to clients will be reliable and accurate, complete, timely and not misleading, with all information made through appropriate channels so customers are able to make informed choices.

We will not offer any products that are unnecessarily complex or confusing and we will not sell our customers goods or services that are inappropriate for their needs and circumstances.

The savings that could be achieved through switching will never be exaggerated and we will endeavour to ensure that they are as accurate as possible. We will respond to all customers in an appropriate and timely manner, with our customer service arrangements and processes accessible to and effective for our client base.

Through the Water Act 2014, all eligible business customers are now able to participate in the competitive water retail market in England, choosing their own supplier of water and wastewater retail services, a move that has allowed around 1.2 million companies in England to be able to shop around for new services.

Here at SwitchWaterSupplier.com, we’re able to help businesses seek out more competitive costs for these services by switching to an alternative water retailer, aligning themselves with one that provides a more suitable service arrangement than they enjoy with their current supplier.

We set out to develop the first independent and impartial water tendering platform to help businesses break down the existing barriers to switching, offering the various features required to allow them to manage their water estates free of charge and approach the water retail market for quotations a lot more easily and efficiently.

Our services include water audits, water bill validation, site surveys, leak detection and repair, and so on. If you’d like to find out more, get in touch with the team today.
